10 recipes to make the most out of grain-free GOODIES

Granola is one of those SUPER addicting things. That combination of crunchy oats with tons of sweetener and oil… no wonder our tastebuds crave it so much.

Once I started eating Paleo, I found that oats were triggering and inflammatory, and bittersweetly gave up granola. That is, until I found Wildway of Life grain-free granola.

They’re chewy rather than crunchy, but are made with 100% real ingredients, and the only sweetener is dates. They also have hot cereal packets, which are awesome for days you want the coziness of oatmeal but don’t have time to make cauli oats.

I’ve compiled my favorite ways to eat Wildways products, from the obvious (smoothie bowl topping) to the unique (granola butter and baked goods).

Happy eating :)

How to Use The Grain-Free Granola

Rice Cake or Toast Topping

By far the easiest way to use granola. I love this for a quick pre-workout snack — it has carbs and crunch. I added cacao nibs here for some extra crunch. Almond butter is an obvious chose of base, but you can also use avocado (YUM) with some sea salt and honey for a unique twist.

Wildway flavor chosen: Coconut Cashew

Bread or Muffin Topping (Collagen Coffee Muffins Recipe)

A dessert-y upgrade on the last variation — try these collagen coffee maca muffins with nut butter of choice (I used Sunbutter) + Wildways grain-free granola.

Wildway flavor chosen: Gingerbread (seasonal) but Coconut Cashew goes with almost any type of baked good!

Cauli Oat or Chia Pudding Topping (Mocha Cauli Oats Recipe)

Since my homemade cauli oats and chia puddings contain zero added sugar, it’s nice to add some grain free granola for some extra sweetness. Get the bacon cauli oat recipe here.

Wildway flavor chosen: Vanilla Bean Espresso (my favorite)

Smoothie Bowl Topping (Cherry Recovery Smoothie Bowl Recipe)

Let’s be honest — the best part of a smoothie bowl is the toppings. Get the recipe for my cherry recovery smoothie bowl here.

Granola Bars

Granola can be used as a pie crust, but also as the bottom to some great baked goods.

For apple spice grain-free granola bars (not the “on the go” kind, but rather than the “eat at home” kind), blend 1 bag of Wildway granola with 1/4 cup melted coconut oil, adding more as needed. Line a square baking pan (I like the 8x8 glass Pyrex ones) with parchment paper (for easy removal) and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

Blend 1/2 cup cashew butter (I love the Georgia Grinders one — use AP20 for 20% off), 1/2 cup no sugar added sunflower seed butter (I like the Sunbutter organic one or the one from Trader Joe’s), 1/4 cup mixed nut butter (I like Nuttzo but Trader Joe’s also has one), 1/4 cup coconut butter, 1/4 cup honey, 2 tbsp melted coconut oil, and nutmeg, cinnamon, and sea salt. Add more coconut oil or warm water to loosen if needed.

Spread blended topping evenly on top of the bottom layer with a spatula and place back in freezer for at least 2 hours, then remove and enjoy!

Grain-Free Granola Butter

Avokween’s created an empire with her granola butter, but this grain-free version is just as decadent. All you have to do is blend one bag of grain-free granola with 1/4 cup coconut butter (you may need to melt this a little to make it malleable) and 3 tbsp melted coconut oil, adding a little more coconut oil as needed to loosen up (the nuts in the granola will release natural oil though, so you may just need to keep on blending). Store in airtight jars for up to two months.

Hot Cereal

Blueberry Mocha Hot Cereal Recipe

For the days where you don’t want to make cauli oats, this is an easy way to mix and go. I’ve added some adaptogens and coffee for a power-fueled, powerful breakfast. Get the recipe here.

Wildway flavor chosen: Blueberry Flax

Note: A half and half with hot cereal and chia pudding is also fun! Get the deets here.

Want to make pancakes but don’t have pancake mix? Just use Wildway hot cereal as a base. I like the Cinnamon Roll flavor because it’s extra cozy, but you can use any of them. This blueberry pancake recipe is from the Wildway blog — check it out here.

Travel Packs

Hot Cereal Cups + Granola Snack Packs

The hot cereal already comes in packets, but if you’re going camping or even just to a coffee shop / work where you don’t want the hassle of bringing your own bowl, these new hot cereal cups are perfect. All you have to do is add hot water (or my favorite — hot coffee + a little dairy free milk or creamer, like Nutty Life cashew milk) for a ready-to-go breakfast.

They’re pretty filling on their own, but I recommend bringing a travel packet of Vital Proteins Collagen for an extra protein boost (I recommend the creamer snack packs because they give that extra decadent feel and flavor), a snack pack of your favorite Wildways granola for some texture, a travel-sized nut butter packet, and some fruit (fresh/frozen/dried all good!) for a heartier breakfast.

Smoothie Bowl Base (Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Bowl Recipe)

These smoothie packet bases are super convenient — they have collagen protein, egg white protein, and adaptogens based on what you were feeling (restore, relax, etc.). Get the recipe for a pumpkin pie carrot smoothie bowl here.
